Hi all! I’m sorry to report that the upgrade did not go well. I have been in contact with our site hosts and the forum developers and I’m furiously trying to get it fixed. Please bear with us while I get this cleaned up. If you want to yell at me, my email is lisa@scrapable.net.

New Challenges coming soon…

The  month just started, so what does that mean?  NEW CHALLENGES… they will start popping around @ the Scrapable Forum.  So if you are in a scrappy funk or just need extra inspiration look no further than to our Challenge section @ Scrapable.  While visiting Lisa’s blog (Kandy Kane Creations) I saw that Shannon explained the challenges and she was right on the money… so why re-invent the wheel when I can quote Shannon.

Have you heard about how the challenges work? Well, it is so great! By participating, you will earn points towards a gift certificate to the Scrapable store:

  • Each challenge is good for 1 point
*except speed scrap which will have designer sponsored mini kit giveaway*
  • 2 points if LO contains 90% or more Scrapable product
  • Scrappers may redeem points in 20 point increments – Each 20 points is good for a $5 gift certificate to the store

That’s it! Easy Peasy!! The challenges themselves are so much fun.

First you have the “Focus on Me” Challenge. This challenge is when you do a layout all about you! We tend to focus all of our time and energy on our families, that it is time that we remember that future generations will want to learn about us. After all, isn’t that was scrapbooking is all about?

Another challenge is the Font Challenge. I don’t know about you, but I tend to use the same fonts over and over. This is a great way to make me use a font I probably never thought to use. Plus it helps build up my font collection.

There is also the Quote Challenge. With this challenge, the host will give you a quote you have to add some where on your layout.

Next is the Scraplift Challenge. Getting inspired by another person’s incredible layout is a great way to break you out of your comfort zone and get you thinking outside of the box. I learn so much by doing this. I bet you will too.

My favorite will have to be the Speed Scrap. You are given directions on how your layout will have to look – one step at a time. You are given a certain time frame (about an hour) to get it all done. I think these are so much fun.

I’m also really looking forward to the Template Challenge too. I love using templates, they make it easy to scrap quickly. When you have little ones under your feet, time is not always on your side.

There is one challenge that hasn’t started yet, but I know will be great is the Desktop Challenge. I love putting a new desktop on my computer each month. It helps me from getting bored looking at the same picture over and over again.

So there you have it – A brief rundown of how my scrapping weekend will be looking! I hope these challenges will inspire you to get some pages done, and have fun with us at Scrapable.

LOTD Winner – Week Ending Feb 25th

Congrats to mom2twoangels for being chosen LOTW by the designers and staff of Scrapable! Watch your PMs for a $5 gift certificate to the Scrapable Store!

March’s Featured Designer = bta designs

Let’s learn a bit about Bre or as you better know her as bta designs @ the Scrapable forum.

  • When did you started digi scrapping?
    • I started digi scrapping about a year ago, and I haven’t looked back!
  • When did you started designing? What made you start designing?
    • I started designing wedding/graduation/birth announcements about 5 years ago, and in about October of last year decided that I could turn my LOs into templates, and try and sell them at stores, so I did! I’d always been interested in photoshop, so it’s tough to say what made me start designing!
  • What is your style as a designer?
    • Well, my style as a designer changes with my style as a scrapbooker, since my templates are from my own LOs. I wouldn’t say I have one specific style, though I am more recently drawn toward the simple/clean, lots of white space style.
  • Is there a special color combination you are drawn too?
    • Since I design templates, I usually just use the colors of my logo, which are a light blue, a light green, grey, black and white. But if I’m scrapping, I love any combination with brown!
  • What is it your favorite part about designing?
    • My favorite part is seeing what others can do with my products! It always amazes me how many different layouts can come from one thing!

And you know that Featured Designer at Scrapable means a really good sale… well… guess what?  bta designs has 5 sales for us, one for each week of the month, so come here all through the month to see her different sales (sales will go up on March 1st, March 14, March 21st and March 28th).

Look at the wonderful template pack that bta designs has made for you!  And no, your eyes are not playing tricks she even included a bonus template on her freebie for you… so it is 5 templates for you in PSD, TIF and PNG formats to say thank you to her current customers and to invite any new customers to try her wonderful creations out.  CLICK on the IMAGE to DOWNLOAD.
